The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) conducts exams to hire candidates for various posts under Group D, including Track Maintainer Grade IV, Assistant, and Assistant Pointsman Level I. So, aspirants appearing for this exam must be well-acquainted with the RRB Group D syllabus. But now the question arises whether the RRB Group D syllabus is similar to SSC exam or not, as candidates preparing for the SSC exams are often interested in giving other competitive exams that share the same syllabus.
There are various exams conducted by SSC like SSC CGL, CHSL, MTS, etc. While RRB Group D syllabus and SSC exam syllabus are similar in many aspects, they have some differences as well. RRB Group D Syllabus
There are three phases in the RRB Group D selection process: a computer-based test, physical efficiency test, and document verification.
The RRB Group D syllabus for computer-based exam consists of four assessment areas: Math, General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, and General Science. Each section consists of different questions based on various topics.

So, as you can see, two sections – General Intelligence and Quantitative Aptitude, are the same across the two exams – the RRB Group D syllabus and SSC exams. Moreover, you also have much common Math or Quantitative Aptitude topics in both the exams, including the Number System, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, and Statistics. Besides Math, you also have common topics in the General Intelligence section in the RRB Group D syllabus and SSC exam syllabus, such as Analogy. Furthermore, you can also draw common inferences from various other topics in General Intelligence, including Problem-Solving, Critical Thinking, Decision-Making, and Coding and Decoding.
However, in the RRB Group D syllabus, we do not find English language section. Instead, questions are asked from General Science which is not a common subject in the syllabus of SSC exams. Thus, the RRB Group D syllabus is somewhat similar to SSC exams only for the sections which are common. With this, it is also important to note that the difficulty level of questions in both the exams might vary depending upon the qualification required.
