For configuring a Netgear router, there is a need to log in to it using and follow the provided on-screen instructions. But, a number of users (including me) reported that they can’t access What I did to fix the issue – in this post, I am going to share all that with you. So, without much delay, let’s get started.

Fix: Can’t Access

Fix 1: Connect Your Router and Modem

The first fix that you can try to fix can’t access issue is to create a secure and finger-tight Ethernet connection between your Netgear router and modem. Make sure that the devices are properly connected. Apart from that, check the Ethernet cable you have used. It must be free from any sort of damage.

Fix 2: Connect Your Desktop to Router

  • Make sure that the device you are using is connected to the router’s WiFi.
  • Do not use public/ free or neighboring WiFi to access

Fix 3: Update the Device

To access without any error pop-up, make sure that the device software (computer or laptop) you are using is up-to-date. Navigate to the device settings. Search for the updates available for your device. If you find any availability, update right away by clicking the “Download” or “Update” button.

Fix 4: Update the Web Browser

This is also one of the most important yet effective fixes that will help you resolve the “can’t access” issue. Simply update the internet browser you are using. Making use of an outdated web browser will definitely give you not working issue.

Reason: The IP address does not work on an outdated version of the internet browser. Apart from this, what you can do to fix the issue is to clear all the browsing history. Besides, to boost up your browsing speed, close all the unwanted open tabs. Once you’re done, restart your computer/ laptop.

Fix 5: Check the Internet Connection

The main reason behind can’t access IP can be your poor internet connection. In that case, I suggest you contact your internet service provider and ask him to provide you with the best internet plan with high-speed data.

Once you are on an updated data plan, ping to check your internet speed.

Fix 6: Check the IP Address

If there are typos in the IP address or entered in the browser’s search bar, then you are surely going to face troubles while accessing it. To get it fixed, make sure that there aren’t any typing errors in IP and it is not entered in the search bar.

Fix 7: Restart Your Netgear Router

Yes, you read it right! The power cycle process works in a number of cases. To fix the can’t access IP issue, you can give this troubleshooting tip a try. Simply turn off your Netgear router and turn it on after some time. After restarting, try to access the IP address again.

Fix 8: Relocate Your Netgear Router

Chances are your router’s WiFi signals are getting interrupted and due to that, you are getting the issue. All you have to do to fix it:

  • Choose a spot in your home for your router where its WiFi signals aren’t getting interrupted by neighboring WiFi.
  • If you have placed the Netgear device inside a cabinet, then it will surely give you a IP issue. So, to get it fixed, place the router over a higher, cool, and ventilated place.
  • Do not choose a corner or lower area for placing your Netgear router.

Fix 9: Opt for Different IP

To log in to your Netgear router, configure it, and change its default settings, not only IP can be used but also IP also works in the same way. At last, when nothing works, I also did the same thing.
